Melissa began dancing at the age of 20. She took her first dance class with Empyrean Movement (now MOVEO Performing Company); a professional dance company located in Portland, OR; under the instruction of Lorena Aranda and Damon Keller. With the company, Melissa has performed in many venues including Los Angeles, Canada and Times Square to name a few, and recently on the same stage with SuperCr3w (America's Best Dance Crew). ...READ MORE>>> Our Instructors:
Tina has over 30 years of dance experience. She began dancing 4 and 5 days per week as a child at a well known studio in Michigan. As a teenager, she was invited to be a part of exceptional dance performances with the likes of The Boston Ballet and Rudolf Nureyev. Melissa is both the Program Director of Creative Outlets 4 Kids as well as a Creative Movement instructor for the program.
Christine is Creative Outlets 4 Kids Yoga Kids instructor. She began teaching yoga as an outlet for her son Silas, a particularly active preschooler! She incorporated breathing games and simple poses to develop the Yoga Sprout curriculum.
Christine further deepened her understanding of children’s yoga through her training as a Yoga Calm Certified Instructor. Yoga Calm is a yoga program developed especially for children with an emphasis on balancing the physical body and the emotional well being of the child. She combines these principles with her theatre and education background to create each Yoga Sprout lesson!
Tina teaches Creative Movement as well as other styles of dance.
Jessica has been teaching many different styles of dance for
over 6 years in schools, community centers, and studios. She currently
performs with the aerial dance company AWOL Dance Collective. She is
also a guest performer with Wanderlust Circus and has performed with
the Bellingham Repertory Dance Company.
Jessica Curtis grew up in Franklin, KY and recently moved to Portland in August. She discovered her love for dance at a very young age and has danced for over twenty years. Jessica danced for the Western Kentucky University Varsity Dance Team for four years and was co-captain her senior year. She has been a dance instructor for eight years.
